I think this statement is incorrect.

Define healing? Define most people? Most of the population of the planet have some level of tinnitus but it is at a level that they do not hear it unless in a quiet room.

Most people that 'heal' from tinnitus do not come back on the forums to pass their story on.

Posts like this one are not helpful for people that are suffering and looking for the guidance of what they can do to manage their tinnitus.

There is a lot you can do to manage your tinnitus and habituate over time.

Habituation is possible for most people.

Yes i dont have any stats about healing , level of suffering or whatever, i m sorry if this is so subjective. U said about most of the population ...and most peole that heal...Please define your most too.

The sound science u shared i get it, but that doesnt lower the suffering of many people with T

Healing i mean not neccesarily disappeared t and at least less louder of couse it includes those you said about who habituated.

U may choose not to appreciate this, as discouraging to people

I am just expressing my frustration and sadness

Yes There are lots of methods of management T, but u know what , different people with different coping abilities.

This is not so sympathetic if you just like positive posts

vincentchan , as Darren said, define most people?

Yeah, Tinnitus is bad news. But you know something? so is diabetes, so is MS, chronic leukaemia, being stuck in a wheelchair is no fun either....the list of chronic conditions is l o n g and sad, and no, it is not easy to live with a chronic condition, but it is possible. People do. Hold this thought and it will give you comfort and hope.

We try to do the best we can. We take courage and hope from people who are in the same boat as us. A treatment which would alleviate one person's T, might not touch another's. That is because we are all so different, our psyche, our mind, work in different ways.

Are peanuts bad? Of course not; yet they would send a susceptible person into an anaphylactic shock.

Same is with CBT, it may work wonders for some but leave others out in the cold. This in NOT because CBT is no good. This is because we are individuals and may or may not relate to it.

Same is with sound therapy, white noise, black noise, waterfall, whatever pleases your brain will do.

One thing I can tell you, vincentchan, venting your anger is not going to help you. Banging your head against the solid brick wall of T is no good.

Tinnitus is a bastard this way: the more you stress about it, the more heavy handed it becomes.

Please remember, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hold this thought and believe in it, because it is true.

I understand what u said and i appreciate your patience yes supporting people is great idea , personally speaking management method is not so useful u re nice, and u know what being subjective or even negative or not constructive is normal when people hiting their lowest point of their life

I'm with you Vincent, especially when your T gets to a certain level of loudness which makes it unmanageable. I managed and habituated to my mild/moderate T for 3 years. My current severe T has been making my life very hard for the past 3 1/2 years. Plus having hyperacusis as well makes it even harder, can't stay positive living in this hell
