Hi all, I've posted on here a few times about T, I'm 2 years in now following head injury. I'm dealing with things ok mostly, but there is one thing which is very odd and i just wondered if it could be T related, and if anyone else experienced anything similar? It's a difficult one to explain - when I'm waking up of a morning sometimes I get what I can only describe as a slow 'wooshing' sensation inside my head, it's almost as if I can feel the blood flowing thru, it's a very strange sensation a little bit disorienting when it's happening, and lasts for a couple of minutes usually before it goes away and I can then get up. Anyone else get this?

I sometimes have a strange sensation and sound before i get up - similar to what u describe . It lasts only about a few seconds with me. I have no idea what it is - blood vessel? nerve? There are a lot of unknowns within medical science about tinnitus

My T developed after a head bump with mild concussion - not as serious as yr condition which i read about in yr previous posts

Hi there. Thanks for the reply, yes it does sound v similar. My T also started after a head injury leading to concussion/post concussion syndrome (which I'm still living with today). I think it probably is something to do with our hearing system picking up internal sounds that previously would have been filtered out prior to injury, possibly blood flow. Odd how it happens only upon waking though, it's a very strange sensation as u say - not unpleasant however just weird! Cheers,Bb

If it's a periodic whooshing in time with your heartbeat, it is probably a form of pulsatile tinnitus. I sometimes get it in the morning too, but usually after I have got up and moved around a little. I also often get a similar but more of a slushy heartbeat sound when I lie on my ear in bed, but have had this since a child. I wouldn't worry too much about it if you goes away - it's probably connected with your bloodflow readjusting after you've woken up.

Hi there, thanks for your reply. Yes it is kind of a slow repeating "woosh" sound it's really weird and only happens when I'm coming round from sleeping, so could be pulsating t as u say. It only lasts a few minutes and clears pretty much when I'm upright but when it's happening I can't really move until its done, a bit like an early morning "trip" for want of a better phrase 🤣. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about, I have tried explaining to my gp but he didn't have a clue! Cheers Bb
