Ear pressure: Who has t and feel the pressure in... - Tinnitus UK
Ear pressure
I have tinnitus and had my ears checked by a doctor and was told they're ok. I have sought 2nd opinions. I've had an MRI and that came back clear and I have now been referred to ENT. My appointment is soon. I am hoping to get answer's as I am struggling to live my life with it. My advice would be to be persistent with your doctors, seek a 2nd opinion and stand your ground. Tinnitus is awful and something we should not have to live with without any supportive medication at least.
Yes u re right persistent
See gp sometimes need to beg for diagnosis one word said tinnitus is not curable is typical
The trouble is GPs just check your outer ear, although I believe they can detect some middle-ear problems from the appearance of the eardrum. But I think they generally lack knowledge about the ears. I went through episodes of ear pressure similar to yours and my GP thought it was Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) but wouldn't refer me to an ENT specialist for it. Actually, I don't think it was ETD. I believe ear pressure can be caused by a number of things. One is a muscle in the ear stretching the drum in response to sound - this is a normal mechanism to protect the inner-ear from very loud sounds but it is sometimes triggered prematurely. I think you would need an ENT specialist to investigate the cause of yours.
Now its good to be lower
