Flying has made no difference to my T. But I’d suggest you ensure your ears are clear of wax so that the pressure differences can be more easily accommodated

Hi that is great- Italy is such a beautiful country.I have a lot of problems with my ears and flying. I sip drinks all the way (tea, water) I get a lot of ear/chest infections. I take it you are worried the tinnitus will get noisier due to the stress? I would aim for keeping hydrated and distracting yourself by reading or watching something on a tablet, whatever works for you normally. xx

Hi Oldham68 flying has never really impacted my T. I usually get a seat at the front of the plane as its the quietest part apparently and wear earplugs. Drink plenty of water to keep the ears popping. Have a great holiday....Italy is my favourite country😁

Hi. I got tinnitus this year, although it much more manageable. I took a flight across country to the US West coast and it was fine. I used Mack earplugs for most of the flight especially takeoff and landing. Also, I take two Sudafed and Afrin for both the takeoff and landing. Consult with your Doctor about this. Don’t be afraid to fly, just take precautions.

Hi Oldham68, I have flown twice since my Tinnitus started and did not have any problems, also the plane noise seem`s to mask my Tinnitus.Flying again this weekend and looking forward to it!!

Hi Oldham68, just returned today from Spain and again had no problems with my Tinnitus whilst flying.

Hi,I have Ménière’s and was really concerned. But no problem whatsoever in fact on one flight I’m sure I even felt a bit better. I’m not a good flyer either I always get a bit anxious before but really I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Enjoy Italy, I love everything about Italy - but I would my wife was Italian :)
