Hi, I’m my own worst enemy at the moment as I decided to reduce my betahistine to 8mg thinking I know best...consequently I woke up with ringing ears in the middle of the night and then blocked right ear and vertigo followed this morning. Does anyone else tinker with their medication too much or is it just me?!? I’ll be back on the 16mg later as gp says this is ok to do. Does anyone take the larger 24mg dose of betahistine? I’m thinking of contacting my ENT to see if they will prescribe it for me if it is helpful. Luckily my vertigo was short lived and just felt off for a few minutes and deaf for a short while with high pitched ringing. Not a good way to begin a day but it’s out of the way now I suppose x

What’s the betahist prescribed for? Tinnitus or something else? NICE currently recommends that docs don’t prescribe this for T but you may take it for something else?
