Vacine

I had my vaccine a few weeks ago . I seem to be about the same. However my T is quite severe anyway . Good question , I’m notaware of anything .
Yes mind is without my hearing aids bed times a nightmare xx
I didn't have tinnitus before but started a day after I had my vaccination.
I've had T for almost 20 years. I got the jab on saturday 20th and so far there has been no change.
There was no change to mine
Most likely a coincidence but it was really low the next day, I got the chills and a headache as one of the side effects It slowly crept back up to what it usually is over a few days. I had the astra zeneca jab.
Hi SUS776 I've had my first injection and my t is the same drives me crazy xx
Had my covid jab 10 weeks ago no difference what so ever go for it had my tinnitus 7 years now by this time you learn to live with it' its just another way of life
Hello Johnson,I agree with you about learning to live with it. I’ve had mine nearly one year. However my T comes with a lot of fullness and pressure to right side and therefore I am finding it’s not just tinnitus . Not sure what to do about it. Any ideas?
Sounds like a mechanical problem in that ear....do you have trouble equalizing? Dose your ear drum thump at times?
Hi Wringing , You mention mechanical problem. Hadn’t thought of that. If I’m sitting down or laying down it feels more settled. If I walk around and do things it’s like my head is filling up with fullness and pressure and it’s difficult to explain really sometimes I think it’s like an untuned television aerial . Equalising you say, what exactly is that ? It’s difficult trying to find the right doctor that cares enough to listen properly .
The passage through your ear may be too tight to let pressure from altitude change through, like when you scuba dive or drive down a mountain or land in a plane.
Check with an ears nose and throat doctor for the mechanical function of your ear, and an audiologist for the bahavioural and numerological aspects. Tinnitus has a psychological aspect to it but hyper acusis, or other realated problems are more physical.
Let me know if I can answer more questions.
So can we help ourselves with the psychological side to tinnitus . Hence why on this site they refer to habituation. I do think I need someone to help me research the mechanical side to what’s going on with my pressure . Strangely, when I sit down or lay down it’s slightly better, when I walk around and try to do stuff it seems to “ fill my head up”. Therefore I cannot move on with the psychological process that I have made some progress with
Yes, you can learn ways to addapt to T. Over time, your brain natural developes tools to cope. It takes some time but what helps is if you stop focusing on it out of fear. Accept it as your little friend who is "always their for you". Many people have the same friend and have adjusted to it. Listen to soft music, don't expose your ears to loud noise, either short term or sustained. Don't drink to much in one evening. Drink two drinks to take your nerves down but stop there. Don't have more then one strong cup of coffee per day. Exercise but not two aggressively. Walking up hills is good but running will create stress. Stress is a definite trigger for a spike. Chill out as much as you can. Weed hasn't proven to help and actually undoes the habituation.
My brain has started playing songs over and over in my head. Eventually I graduate to mental challenges or projects I work on even while I'm sleeping. Strange stuff but it's my reality and I'm still happy.
Yes, a couple of times I've broke down and wepped, but in general, I choose to look for the best of life I can get in spite of this racket. It's kind of like having a bunch of kids in your house. Learn to ignore it.
Someday soon, the doctors will figure it out.
It's likely nerve damage from injuries, industrial fatigue or radiation from microwaves. Studies point to pollution, tephlon, plastics etc. and recently Covid has proven to cause severe T. Perhaps that last one will leed the researchers to a clue.
Thank you Wringing so much for your lovely reply . Really reassuring . Stress yes . I lost my dear mother and my brother in law 18 months ago. I moved house etc . Then Covid arrived on the scene. I don’t drink at all. But I do have caffeine in a lot of Earl grey tea. I will try and make friends with my T. as you do . The pressure behind it might be a bit harder . But thanks again.
Hi SUS, Just had 1st Pfizer shot three days ago. I'm 58 and had T for 24 years. I haven't noticed any spike from it although my pulse rate was elevated and my fingers felt stiff the first night. My wife got the shot with me. She had an elevated temperature the second night. Both of us are feeling on edge from the vaccine. I'm told the second shot will have much worse side affects. If it spikes then, I'll report it here.

The BTA has recently published information on this, based on the current evidence. You can read about it here: tinnitus.org.uk/coronavirus...
