Hello catman. I feel for you..... that doesn’t really help, but you are not alone. I remember you’ve posted before. Might going over your older posts and their replies help?

Hi Happyrosie

Nothing seems to help, just a life of hell.

I have had terrible problems with sleeping, as I have a very loud tinnitus 24/7. I know how you feel. I can recommend to take tbl Melatonin , 3-6 mg, in combination with use of a talking book. Every time I wake up, I listen to the book, and fall asleep again. Hope you will sleep again.

Hi Mille23

Like you I have severe tinnitus 24/7 but lately it seems to be trapped in a spike cycle. Had to take another sleeping pill last night, that is to get some sleep. The Melatonin you use is this prescription only or is it available over the counter?.

Not much of book worm but listen to calming sounds from several apps that I have on my phone i.e. Calmer, Calm and Starkey, but would be interested in what book app you use.

I have got Melatonin from prescriptions, but now I buy it from a Company called Life Extension. I am very satisfied with their products. I listen to books from Saxo.com , which is a Danish book shop, where I can buy books / talking books. I really, really hope that there will be a cure for all of us. 🙏

Because at the time melatonin was banned in the UK I bought some in the US. The pack did not mention any possible poor side effects. Taking the tabs didn’t make the slightest difference to my sleep. I’d be very cautious taking it now, I’ve been reading up on the side effects. It would be wonderful to have a full nights sleep, have not had one for many years.

It is a pity that you dont have any effect of Melatonin. I know that there are different opinions whether there are side effects or not. The information about the medicine says that it is most effective for people above 55 years ,as your own production of Melatonin gets smaller when you get older. And it is a good antioxidant. 😊
