I had Corona in July, was in the hospital for 7 days. After a couple of months the tinnitus started and doesn't seem to be slowing. I tried hearing aids. They helped for a couple of days and then it came back.
Learning to live with it.

You’ve been through a rough time..Tinnitus loves stress. I think my tinnitus is getting worse due to the stress of the Corona virus. Not seen my family etc, I think we will hear of more cases of tinnitus since this virus has taken a firm hold.
Well done for getting over Corona but it must have been very worrying for you. I hope your feeling a bit better now.
Sorry to read about the difficulties you're having with tinnitus - is this the first time you've experienced the condition, following covid-19?
If your hearing has been affected as a result of the illness, you are by no means alone - it is one of the issues reported by people in the 'Long Covid' cohort.
Hearing aids are certainly a good way to manage a degree of hearing loss or to provide masking functions to suppress tinnitus. Opinions vary on the best way to use hearing aids when tinnitus is also an issue - our guide is available at this link: tinnitus.org.uk/hearing-aid...
Yes, I never had any issues with tinnitus pre-Covid. I'm not sure if the onset of Tinnitus was because of the actual Covid or because of the meds i had while in the hospital. Learning to cope is tough but seems to be getting better. Reading the comments on this site helps.
Yes unfortunately that’s the only solution. Good days, bad days and awful days. I try not to let me stress me out as much and give it the attention it demands. I think it’s just going to be a long road to habituate but others manage it so it gives me hope. I have no doubt that getting it in one of the most stressful times isn’t helping so I’m hoping that when we get COVID under control and back to some kind of normality the T will improve. Good luck
Just to add to what has been said elsewhere in the thread, we've got some resources for the tinnitus community during the current social safety guidelines which you can read in the pinned post - look for the profile picture of devastatingly handsome, hairy person (I'm also in the photo).
I join others in saying we are glad you are beyond your Covid.
I have read a few articles, none conclusive, that Covid and T are related. A recent non-T medical experience offered this, "People tend to associate a connection between events as part of their memory."
In other words, a change in life/health is often incorrectly associated with an event. T could have started (naturally) before or after Covid but the illness is your memory trigger so you connect the two. I am not suggesting you are wrong, only sharing input that made me more aware..
I found this interesting when the doctor shared it.
