I have just been told I have severe tinittus due to complete lack of hearing at high frequencies. I am not sleeping and have lost any interest in everything.
I am sinking into depression and cannot see it getting better

hi rich .please dont let your T get the better of you , their is plenty of help on here and other places that can help you ..you are not alone on this . my T started in sep 2020 in my left ear only i had mri to rule out anything nasty all came back clear , i have hearing loss in both my ears which is probably causing the T . have you been offered a hearing aid which i am told is an huge help .
It will get better. Keep up the medication and look at other things you can add to your toolkit. Though, beware of snake oil salesmen. As the old adage goes "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." In fact, drop the 'probably' bit as there is no magic cure to tinnitus. But, there is a way to live with.
I too have trouble sleeping. Have a look sound therapy (link below), and the Beltone Tinnitus App. This helps me relax at night and during quiet times. I wake early in be morning but I no longer entertain it with too much of a fight. I just put on the sound therapy app and read (and/or often post on here). In fact, I find waking early is a positive, as I have several hours to relax and I do things I enjoy that I never did before.
Unfortunately, it takes time to adjust, but the quicker you can start to accept, using methods to get rid of anxiety and stress, the quicker you'll improve your quality of life. There maybe other options you need to add to your tool bag such as CBT.
I may make this sound like I've had an easy journey. Not at all! I still have my moments.
You should always, consult with your doctor or a medical professional. Especially, medication and diets. You will find good advice here.
