Cisplatin was one of the three chemo drugs they used for my cancer. I now have severe tinnitus.

I had cisplatin when i had cancer but not sure if the dosage was high enough to cause tinnitus, this was 24 years ago so Im sure i would have noticed i had tinnitus long before now. First noticed it in 2015 3 months after my mum passed away but i had noticed my hearing in affected ear was getting worse a few months before all that happened so have been wondering if the cisplatin did cause some damage to my hearing and the trauma of losing my mum was just enough to push my brain over the edge.

Were you told cisplatin could cause hearing damage/tinnitus as i certainly dont remember being told.

Hope the treatment was successful though.

Hello Blue. I find this interesting. I know that cancer can be s killer but many survivors report that the subsequent T has ruined their lives. where fo you stand on this,?

Finally got rid of cancer but actually I think tinnitus and the anxiety is worse. Cancer lasted 3+ years with a surgery, chemo, a major surgery and a lot of mental crap but at least it's over. This tinnitus never ends and don't think it ever will. The constant squealing, screaming, screeching, pulsating, thumping, and switching sides are there all the time.

Just hang on in there lad there is a lot more awareness these days and there is a lot of research ongoing. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. Good luck

anybody that partakes in this trial deserves everything they get......Notingham, get a grip....the fact your running these trials means you know shit about this condition....LEAVE IT ALONE

Note to all respondents on this thread: I've not had cancer but your stories sadden me. I suffer from T only.

I wish you all healing, l hope you can feel my love for you.
