I think the best ones are the ones you will wear! I used free airline ones for years, which were better than nothing and a discreet grey. Hard thing is discipline - if I forget them, have to skip the gig or it can be weeks to recover

Those are the ones that I wore to a concert in May and have had extremely loud, constant, tinnitus in my left ear since! And only had my hospital appointment weeks ago (after months of waiting) and have been told that I have lost 20% of my hearing because of that concert. If you read through all the reviews on Amazon, selling that brand, you will see that lots of people have ended - up with permanent hearing damage from using them.

Sorry to hear about your tinnitus

They are simply ear plugs that reduce the decibels and to that extent reduce some of the risk to your hearing.

If regular gig goers use this brand a lot , it is likely some of those people will still develop tinnitus

They can not cause or ultimately prevent tinnitus

I would be very suprised if any hospital would attribute hearing loss to a particular concert

Hi Mark - I would echo ChooseYourUsername's suggestion of Alpine, or you could look at some of the options on T3 magazine's recent round-up of earplugs for live music - t3.com/features/best-ear-plugs
