Tinnitus and dog barking?

Hi all

I wanted to know how many T sufferers are ok around dogs and how many are not?

Does dog barking make your T worse , are you ever worried about dog barking and T?

I own a bernese mountain dog and am fine but being a dog lover i miss owning herding breeds ( i still love my BMD) like German shepherds and i have always wanted to own a rough collie but i feel i will never get to because of T?

Hi yes when a yappie dog dog barks my T gets worse I am sitting in my flat with my balcony door open and a bike has just gone by and engine miss fired made me jump and my T levels went up I has now been over half a hour and my T levels have not gone down I will try mindfulness meditation to get them down have been doing mindfulness meditation for over 5 years now and still can’t get it to work it would be interesting to find out what other sounds make T worse for sufferers will make up a post asking sufferers to reply and say what sounds effect them.

if my dogs bark in the closed garage[where I feed them] it hurts my ears and I have to put hands over ears although the trouble is was in just my right ear recently the other ear if getting the blocked feeling just like the other did 4 years ago,but the noise only began one year ago, intermittently. I also find now I have to turn the tv very low if its a screechy female voice of high pitch sounds of any kind because it hurts my ears,

I have a problem with one of my dogs

She constantly barks and it aggravates my tinnitus a lot. My wife still don’t understand the horrors of Tinnitus just like everyone else I meet . I suffer sad to day sometimes it’s so loud I want to put my head through a wall and sometimes

It’s bearable. Low dosages of Xanax and CBD Oil helps the loudness. But my dog can set it off at any given time.

Thx for posting this, it helps to know I’m not alone with the problem of a barking dog 😊

Ive had bad tinnitus for 18months now and hate loud noises including barking dogs but I don't think they effect my tinnitus at all. I believe that they just remind me and my brain about my tinnitus and so I start to listen for it and hear it more but as far as the volume of the tinnitus is I believe it to be unchanged. Having said that I work as a postman and will quickly put my ear plugs in if I know im passing a property where there will be a barking dog. Thanks
