:-) My last blood test in November showed my T3 had dropped to 3.2 from 3.5 ( 3.1 - 6.8)...... my GP was plsd as my TSH had gone up to 0.06 ( 0.27 - 4.2)and my T4 had dropped to 17.7 (12 - 22).

Ouch!!

I fail to understand why they do not understand the importance of T3....it's not rocket science!

I think they rely on opinion rather than on scientific evidence.

To do a U-turn and to accept the latter would, allegedly, be an admission that they have been wrong for years!

Just a thought!!

It seems there's some "magical thinking" re T3 as far as some..(many? )... medics are concerned.

When I inadvertently took a much higher than usual dose of levo for 11 days, it shot my T4 way way too high, but...it also lifted my T3 to the best it's been...... 5.3 ( 3.1-6.8). A different GP laughed when I said I had felt wonderful with that level of T3. As I was also fighting not to drop my levo dose due to TSH result, I didn't question the laughter.... but it made me aware of that "magical thinking". Is it something to do with weight lifters buying from the internet, and using T3, do you think?

Most likely cost combined with a lack of understanding about T3....some of them don't even know what T3 is/does!

And a perception that most patients are women and therefore not capable of rational thought!

Well I feel rotten! Apart from brain fog and fluid retention...thankfully not appearing... I feel "Underwhelmed" and pretty hypo. Doing everything I can to lift T3...and hopefully feel re-energised and positive again.

My latest blood tests results are due on Tuesday... they'll be interesting to see.

In the chemist recently, I noticed Viagra being advertised at £5 a pop. Four for £20 - four episodes of a few hours! I have just been prescribed T3 and my prescription will last me for 200 days for £60. (A life at last hopefully!) Whilst it will reasonably be argued that Viagra might give both partners fun…. Only four episodes against 200 days of a life worth living with T3!!!! Unless the cost of Viagra to the NHS is substantially more than the £20 the chemist can charge (not outwith the realms of reality considering the T3 price fiasco) I think we are CHEAP! I mean if we could get it prescribed as opposed to self medicating or private prescription.

It's just another example of medical misogyny!

Delighted to know you've got your T3 prescription.... seems your endo is on-side :-)

Hope the T3 brings you the health you're wanting, and the "Get up and Go" to live it :-) x

I am taking my time. I don’t want to have another setback (self made). Now might go in the other direction. It’s so blooming simple and difficult at the same time!

Not what you're looking for?
