Natural HRT and Hashimotos

Hi all

started Evorel 50 patches and Utrogestan 100mg in September . Have had on/off affair with HRT since. Had to ditch the Utrogestan as really increased by IBS symptoms 1000 fold and the Evorel although initially made me feel great, made me put on weight and my legs were like tree trunks.

Cut the patches into half , same results and then a quarter, felt better, but then a slow creep of the menopausal symptoms returning. Started to use the natural progesterone cream ( against GP' recommendation as said wasn't enough to negate the effects of the Oestrogen ??!! ) . However trying to get my thyroid to desired level is a nightmare !! Was under 0.01 at last test but displaying hypothyroid symptoms still and this cold spell not helping .

Feel for the most part, well on the Evorel as in energy levels, increased sex drive, but find my skin dry and as for the weight gain , don't get me started !!

So the question is has anyone found a good natural alternative that doesn't interfere with thyroid function and can finely balance the sex hormones and negate the unwanted menopausal symptoms . Or is that the holy grail ??

Personally I’ve had no trouble with oestrogel and utrogestan and have actually needed a slight reduction in Levo (although other members taking HRT have required a slight increase). HRT is very much trial and error to find what works best for you.
