Excuse my spelling. Rang 111 last night as soft frequent stools, now escalated to 3 times an hour runny. They suggested I phone pharmacy from 10 am today which of course nobody answers or is engaged in the ones I’ve tried. Now stomach is hot and skin tender with the frequency. Phoned back 111 45 minutes ago and re told them of my low thyroid and blood pressure history and there had been the escalation Of frequency. I’m concerned about my electrolytes. They will get me a ring back but don’t know how soon (I know it can be 7 hours some times)

Don’t know if it’s the meds or what that’s doing it.

As you’ll gather I’m in a bit of a panic as sort of stuck as to what next....

There should be a pharmacy open for emergencies. Can you find one near you?

I’d be using taxis normally but due to ‘the runs’ not appropriate. That’s why I’m ringing round.

Well, got lucky after 2 pm when spoke to a pharmacist who advised me on my options and any contra indications to my medications.

That's good and it will relieve your mind if his suggestions work for you.

I had GP last week to test my blood pressure again..lying, sitting , standing etc and he is unsure why the pressure is low. So nothing prescribed apart from the Bucca which I wrote about recently, which should stop any dizziness meantime. I’ve been on heavy antibiotics for UTI until last week for 3 months which knocked me for 6.

I’m sipping a rehydration sachet at present, think it’ll be too strong for my red hot tum to drink it all at once.

Orthostatic hypotension …. I have been plagued with this issue for years and have had very few issues once my thyroid was removed. I would get so dizzy I would pass out when I would get up from sitting or laying down position.

Has your adrenal function been tested? I can see from an earlier post that you are only fairly recently on levothyroxine. The GP should be mindful of the possibility of Addison's disease (as highlighted in the NICE guidelines) the symptoms you have posted and the deterioration could be symptoms of Addison's which can become more obvious if you are on levo because the cortisol you do have in your body is metabolised more quickly. My daughter ended up in hospital due to this particular scenario, once she was on medication for Addison's she no longer needed the levo.

Thanks for this info. I’m due my first 6/8 weeek blood test next week and following those will see where I am a bit clearer and take stock. I’m glad you daughter got “sorted” . Cheers,.
