Hello again, can anyone tell me what triggers a Hashimoto flare or attack? Is it different for everyone?

I doubt anyone knows the answer to that, for certain. If they did, it would be so easy to avoid. But, I imagine it is different for everyone.

Thank you grey goose. I just had one I know this sounds weird I can almost taste it and the whole of my system feels congested

That doesn't sound like a Hashi's 'hyper' swing. What is there to taste? Sounds more like an attack of catarrhe.

I don't really know what you mean by congested.

It’s a weird feeling I’ve never really been able to describe it but I get it when I’m having a flare. Could be reflux

Don't know why you would get reflux with a Hashi's swing. But, if your FT4 shot up to about 30 and your FT3 to about 12, then that's what you had.

I’ve suffered with it on and off for years but has definitely improved as my diets improved. Thank you you’re always so helpful

According to my consultant, there is no such thing....

We all know there is but of course he is so sure of himself that there is no changing his mind.

It is a plus that you have learned how you feel when it is happening though. This horrible hashi's keeps us all guessing whether it is our thyroid or a bug, our thyroid or another illness.

I know it’s so difficult to tell isn’t it!

I am certainly no expert but I'll give you an idea. I'm going through an episode of hashimoto downswing right now. I attribute it to a summer of not being able to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to. I know now that it started back in June because of a bad experience with my dentist along with too many added problems....too many to count. I'm sure y'all get the picture so Happy Thanksgiving to me and sore neck and all that comes with it.. Strange it seems no matter how good we feel, a couple of months of bad happenings will do to our health. I think realizing the reason plus rest are a big factor in getting back to normal.

Anyone please add on if you wish or had similar experience as I or we need all the help I can get.

Thank you

Sorry, it is probably different for others. You didn't mention your symptoms but I'm suffering from a bit of a swollen thyroid, a sore neck and swollen clavical. Very painful.

I'm using a mix of Copaiba/ Myrrh mixed in a Copley of teaspoon of olive oil....rub on neck and shoulders once or twice a day... it's very relaxing so I suggest no driving ....

Gosh I’ve got all types of symptoms at the moment, head buzz and sore neck, aching joints, fatigue, brain fog, swollen eyes in the morning etc etc! Think I need a raise in dose
