The following article notes that "Approximately 40% of adults with hypothyroidism have the involvement of sensorineural hearing loss in both ears," and attributes this to the broad effects of hypo metabolism on the regulation (or mis-regulation) of endolymph fluid volume of the inner ear.

And Bob's your uncle.

Hypothyroidism always needs to be treated to the fullest extent humanly possible in order to alleviate its widespread effects on the body.

Yes, hypertriglyceridemia is linked to hypothyroidism - although there can be other causes. And so can tinnitus be. But I don't think hypertriglyceridemia can cause tinnitus, or the other way round. :)

Yes, I became ill in 1987 with high triglycerides and low potassium. A new GP in 2002 recognised raised triglycerides could be due to hypothyroidism. Tests were done and TPO antibodies were over a thousand. Have been on thyroxine since but didn't start to regain my health until 2012 when it was discovered I had a pituitary problem. So, I have low T4, cortisol and growth hormone, but an excess of aldosterone, which caused blood pressure problems since 1981 following an operation for carcinoma of the cervix. In the last few years I have developed tinnitus, the deafness I suffer is more when I have problems with the Eustachian tube in the inner ear following an infection. Have been on nasal drops to combat the deafness when I can't clear it myself. Have learned to live with the tinnitus. Currently, I am being investigated to establish whether the steroids for low cortisol and the nasal spray are causing insulin resistance and putting me in the diabetic range.
