Do you know which anti-bodies were tested when you were diagnosed ? Do you have copies of your results with ranges ? Am sure someone will have some wise words later ...
I only asked about anti-bodies as there have been a few cases lately where it was later revealed they had Hashimitos and not Graves - or both. So anti-body results are important .
Reducing slowly makes sense.
The slow reduction over a year really only applies to the ‘titration’ approach for Graves’. Otherwise, there is no harm in coming straight off it, and people on ‘block and replace’ therapy for Graves’ would typically go from 40mg down to nothing.
The really important question is whether you have Graves’ or not, as if you do, you would normally remain on Carbimazole for12-18 months to have the best chance of achieving remission, as Marz says , do you have test results you can share ?
Thanks for your reply no I don't have graves but I don't feel right tight throat and anxiety it's probably just the transition period coming off them just I've been wanting to stop them for a while and thought I'd feel normal straight away. Wishful thinking I guess thanks again
