Hi all i have today started my carbimazole titration 15mgs, x2 5mgs tablets in the morning and x1 tablet in early evening. I have been taking carbimazole 20mgs 1 a day for 2 months, which i started to feel better on, endo wanted to reduce dose to only 10mgs a day but do you think i should start with 15mgs first few days then reduce to 10mgs, if so what time in the evening would i take the dose? Early evening around 7pm
How long also would i notice a difference good or bad being on a lower dose?
Or am i doing wrong and should do 10mgs straight away 5mg in morning and 5 mg in early evening. like endo wants , i just thought that going on half a dose straight away would be too much of a jump Help.😊xx

I was on 20mgs up until about 6 weeks ago, then Endo reduced me to 10mgs. I used to split my 20mgs into morning and evening. I used to take the 10mgs in the morning but had disturbed sleep so I also tried splitting my 10mgs into morning and evening however I found that taking the whole 10mgs in the evening seems to suit me better and my sleep is less disturbed.
Thankyou yes, i have just taken the 10mgs this mornings only in one dose as my ft4 and ft3 have come down quite considerably in the last month, did you notice much of a difference in your symptons ? Did they worsen for a while after dropping half the dosage? Or was there no difference in the beggining- good or bad interested to know.xxx
I didn't notice much difference to start with. Ive been on the lower dosage since September. Although recently I have had odd bouts of sweats mainly at night which is why I changed to taking my meds in the evening. They seemed to have stopped now. I go back to the Endo in November. Other than that all seems okay.
