Increased Levo dosage

I should have asked my endo this, but forgot. Maybe someone here can inform me. She raised my Levo from 100 mcg daily, to: 100 mcg weekdays but 200 mcg on weekends. Is this a benefit from just doing 125 daily?

100 weekdays/200 weekends gives 25mcg more per week than 125 daily.

I can't see the point of doubling the dose at weekends. I'd prefer to take the same every day in case I forgot to increase it at weekends.

Yes, thanks. I understand the math. Just wondering if there is a benefit to two large doses v. spreading it out all week.

Since levo is a storage hormone which then (hopefully) gets converted to T3 (the active hormone) it shouldn't matter when you take it.

I think of it as like filling up your petrol tank - where the petrol waits to be used and it doesn't matter when you fill up as long as you don't run out.

The only benefit I can think of might be if you had to have a mixture of levo brands to get the 125mcg. It's best not to mix brands, but find what suits you best and stick with that. Maybe she wants you to take multiples of 100mcg.
