Hello all hope everyone is soldiering on, as best they can. Good luck. . I'm struggling it's difficult just now.Been off work since January with severe knee trouble after trying to get out walking over Xmas. My GP looked at swelling3xsize of other knee, grinding.painful to stand on. I'm still on the sick Infact lost one of my jobs, been sent to physio as I have got swelling down, I have fibro and costochondritis so exercise can some times create problems. Knee ex Ray suggested no boney abnormality, degenerate change/medial with pronounced reduction in joint space, they did bloods in January, and I had them took again in March at my immunology appt. I have just really started to function as I'm always tired and feel malaise, also quite anxious since beginning of year, I'm struggling with severe ringing in both my ears which has always been there but worse lately, and TMD my jaw feels stiff I wear a dental bit, I have more pain to right side of face and headache, I'm aware of it all the time throughout the day, I'm bloated and feel I don't empty my bladder properly, gas and bloating with some constipation. And my temperature I just cannot control. All day all night, sweating which literally has my hair on back of neck wet. Can feel temperature around my abdominal. I'm not sleeping gone from sleeping to much to can't sleep, when I do its for short smells. I'm tearful and moody. Oh god what a catch,. I will add my bloods in next post, I'd appreciate any help as I'm still having brain fog and tbh I feel I'm from another planet right now,

Dutch07,

If youo post your recent thyroid results and ranges members will advise whether you are optimally dosed on Levothyroxine.

Have you had a coeliac screen (tissue transglutaminase blood test) to rule out gluten intolerance which causes bloating, gas and constipation?

Just seen this and no I hav nt , I'm not on any medication for thyroid, I have been on anti depressants, pain killers. Honestly I've had no help from my GP reguards thyroid and never had any comments except how is your anxiety, I was even put on hrt at the age of 45, but that made me feel no better if not worse. My hormones are really bad at the moment. I'm taking supplements just to help but I've probably wasted more money. I'm 51 now so probably in the change now not way back then.

Coming here and reading posts and explanations has opened my eyes, depressants for me just masked symptoms.

Currently changing my GP s practise. This is such an eye opener to me, I put a lot of trust into these people as do we all,

Thanks very much, I will not be so trusting anymore 🤓🤓🙄🙄🤔🤔🤗

My head stopped sweating once I'd had a couple of weeks on vit d3 and k2.

Hi Dutch, I've learned a lot about hypo and Hashimoto's over the last twenty years but lately I've become aware of SIBO which is small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Bloating is a big part of that because certain bacteria back up into the small intestine where there should be no bacteria because certain valves are supposed to prevent this. This can actually relate back to low thyroid and the nervous system. The testing for this is hydrogen or methane breath test but it has to be severe enough to test. The bacteria acts on the food and produces the gas and hence your bloating. I don't know if a conventional doctor would treat you but there is enough information for you to do some things yourself and you can use herbs if you cannot get a doctor to write prescriptions for neomycin or refaximan which are the usual antibiotics.

Mostly it is naturopaths who recognize this but if you can get a breath test at least you can start working on it yourself.
