Mafia TSH over range, FT4 under range. The notes on the print out says it all.

What is your GP going to do?

What does that mean?

Exactly what it says on the print out

"Indicates inadequate replacement therapy" ie you are not on enough Levo

OR

"Or poor/erratic adherence" ie you are not taking your prescribed amount of Levo daily

OR

"Or absorption" ie something is stopping your Levo being absorbed properly.

The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below and FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges if that is where you feel well.

So, what has your GP said about these results and what is he going to do?

Did you ever get Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin tested which was suggested a year ago? Optimal levels of all these are needed, not just within range, for thyroid hormone to work.

Do you think i could benefit from t3

Impossible to say unless FT4 and FT3 are tested at the same time to see how well, or not, you convert.

What you need, based on those results, is an increase in Levo to reduce your TSH and increase your FT4.

What has your GP said?

Did you get vitamins and minerals tested?

My GP just upped me to 150 mu from 125mu

Good, that should help. Make sure that you are retested after 6-8 weeks and if necessary another increase.

Did you get your vitamins and minerals tested?

No. They didnt deem it necessary apparently.

They all need to be optimal for thyroid hormone to work.

Most of us on here have doctors who don't know much about treating Hypothyroidism, so we've had to learn to help ourselves. It looks like you need to fight your corner or get them tested privately.

All the information and advice you need is available from many members here.
