Hello there, I was recently diagnosed too (Graves disease). I declared this on travel insurance (it needed renewing) but it wasn't considered to have any effect on my eligibility. I haven't heard anything about having to tell the DVLA and hyperthyroidism isn't on the site listing health conditions that have to be declared gov.uk/health-conditions-an....
Mand06 You must declare every medical condition to your travel insurance company, failure to do so may invalidate your insurance in the event of a claim.

I have the same problem as you. I rang the travel insurance for it to be included and they charged me £15 extra. Good luck, enjoy your hols.
