growing goitre

hi everyone was just wondering if a goitre can enlarge when a person is stressed and go down when less stressed? As mine appears bigger sometimes then looks as if it has shrunk

Lou, goiters often become enlarged when the pituitary gland detects insufficient circulating hormone and produces TSH to stimulate the thyroid gland to produce more and decreases when TSH stimulation ceases. Another reason can be an autoimmune attack (Hashimoto's) on the thyroid gland which can cause it to swell. When the autoimmne attack ceases the swelling subsides but antibodies will be elevated.
