My personal view is that it should be treated as a supplement so leave 4 hours from taking levo. I take all supplements together at lunchtime.

Thanks shaws,. ( I am taking melatonin to see if it helps with insomnia, usually take levo. about 3.am when I have to pay a loo visit! - so suppose taking melatonin about 9 pm. would be about right) Don't want to fall asleep in the middle of the afternoon so lunchtime out! Also been told that 3mg a bit too large a dose to start with so am spliting tab

Sometimes it is a bit of a juggle to find out what suits.

Hope it works soon.

Hi, just to say that I tried Melatonin (at night when I was taking levothyroxine in the morning) but had worsening of hypo symptoms. Read label which said melatonin should not be taken if you have autoimmune disease (have hashimoto's). Now take Levo at night which has helped sleep, although still not 'refreshing' sleep, unfortunately.

hi and thanks, I have taken melatonin (1.5 mg) for only 3 nights and no use. Also had forgotten about it not being suitable for autoimmune disease - good of you to remind. Ah well another idea bites the dust...back to the drawing board!

:-( Empathy re lack of good sleep. I hope you find a solution soon (taking levo at night helps me somewhat, but we are all unique).
