I've read some experiences on this site. Any ideas of what I should ask for would be greatly appreciated. I'm on 125mg of levothyroxine a day. But all the symptoms are still here. Overweight tired teary, crazy PMS , forgetful. Thank you

Hello everyone!! I've finally been referred to an endo team at the royal free but a bit nervous of being disappointed.

Just tell him/her that you asked to be referred to them as despite being on levo you still have many clinical symptoms and your GP doesn't know how to make you better. (Let's hope they know and even the addition of some T3 may make a difference.
Sometimes it is difficult to remember all the things you may like to discuss with your Endo. So best to make a list - with little notes for yourself ! There is a list of Signs and Symptoms on Thyroid UK - the main website. You can tick which ones you have and then print it off to help on the day.
If your dose is not working - then it would be reasonable to ask if you have a conversion problem - converting T4 into the ACTIVE T3. Your Endo may smell a rat and deny the need for any testing ! Do you have Hashimotos ? In my non-medical experience I have noticed that Hashi's sufferers have more problems with converting and remaining symptoms. I am one myself - and have done better on T3 only as I was not converting the T4 tablet. I did a spread sheet of all my results over the years and presented it to my GP who could see instantly the FT3 was on the floor and had been for 7 years ! I live in Crete so things are slightly easier for me with Docs and Endos - more flexible and open as a rule....and they don't seem to get upset when you point out things. My GP in the village is currently reading Paul Robinsons book - Recovering with T3 - or something like that ! She has had it so long I have forgotten the title - must get it back !
Do hope you have a good experience and that you will report back......

Let's hope they are a sympathetic team and can get you better.
