Hi all, is it unusual to lose fat from the face, before diagnosis (graves) I was weirdly looking and scared to look in the mirror.

I lost loads of weight - which was lovely for me - it came off all over really, face included, I suppose, my face was never that thin to begin with so i didn't look like I had lost weight from my face, I know people who have lost weight (not with Graves, just generally) and they have lost the subqutaneous fat and their faces look very gaunt.

On the whole I didn't look that awful although some days if I was particularly tired it showed on my face and I looked a bit haggard and OLD - well I am old but I looked older and tired. Like you I wasn't too keen on looking in the mirror. x

I lost lots of weight and ate like a rugby player....... which most women would kill for... and my friends were grizzling about it...... now I look at pic of face and did look a bit like a cadaver...... now got cheeks filled in - a bit too much and friends pleased as struggle with weight like them, no more stuffing face with fish and chips...x
