Hi Orangelady, I have dry and brittle hair, and I have found that products with keratin in, such as shampoo and conditioners work well, also argon oil, and dove heat spray before styling hair.

Back to conditioning, hot oils and restructure masks left to soak into hair are fab too.

Its awful when your hair gets dry and frizzy, mine breaks off or falls out easy too so I sympathise with you x

Are you feeling well on your current dose of thyroid medication? If not, your hair could be another symptoms of being under-replaced.

Checking your iron, ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D would also be a good idea if you haven't already. Taking biotin (vitamin B7?) can help with hair and nail growth.

Of course, none of my suggestions are going to help with your current hair; only with new hair growth. I like the macadamia oil suggestion! It's making me feel hungry ;)

I hope you find something that works.

I've been 8 years with it now and my hair is still quite weak and brittle.. I've tried lots of products but the only thing I feel helps is washing and conditioning with Aussie products, adding some Moroccan oil and leaving my hair to dry naturally unless I'm going somewhere special..

Just give it it some TLC Orangelady and it may improve.. Best of luck x

Advice from an "old" hairdresser, I use ausie three minute miracle...it wont make your hair thicker, but it will coat & protect what you have.x

It's expensive but Kerastace hair mask for very dry hair is incredible and lasts a long time. Just use it as you would a conditioner. It's a miracle worker.
