NDT split morning and afternoon
Well actually, I take my T4 at 9:30pm, well after food and well beforesleep.
Hi RedApple,I take T4 100mcg plus T3 20mcg first thing in the morning. I am however only 6 weeks into this regime. Hoping for another 20mcg T3 to be taken later in the day combined with total cessation of T4.
Regards,
Eccleston
I take NDT and Levo in one dose in the middle of the night
Sorry more options needed, T4 and T3 both split twice a day at the moment ( although tried other options)
I take full T3 and T4 before I go to sleep. I dont see an option for that so am I doing this wrong?
NDT split morning and afternoon
Although I have answered the question, I am still suffering debilitating symptoms regardless of the NHS guidelines saying that I am fully replaced.
Hi, I’m in exactly the same position as you. I’ve seen my GP about this a few times but just get told I’m on the correct dose!🙄🤷🏻♀️.
I was originally put on levothyroxine, the standard treatment. I went from a working person, to losing my job, because of ill health, which became worse, the higher the dose of levothyroxine. Cut a very long story short, I am now on liothyronine only, following many visits and changes, by choice, of endocrinologist. I was improving, but the endocrinologist will not increase dose due to TSH and T3 results. So, stalemate. But, my GP just expects me to be 'well' and suggested I go to work. Is he kidding!!!!! I responded by telling him he has no idea how ill I have been and continue to be.
I take T4 and T3. T4 split 3 times a day and T3 split 4 times. Through trial and error this is what works best for me. No option to select splitting both T3 & T4 throughout the day. 💜
I take levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) full dose of each through the night when I wake for the loo.
This is fairly new as I was splitting my T3, a couple of weeks in and going well so far.
I also take T3 and T4 in the morning a good hour before breakfast.
I take levo at night just before bed and t3 split 3 times a day.
t4 t3 full doses on waking
I take both levothyroxine and liothyronine together when I wake in the morning
I take my NDT no less than an hour before breakfast
I take t4 in the morning with 1 NdT (Armour)
Then a second NDt (Armour) tablet in the evening.
I take Armour thyroid morning and afternoon 1 grain each
I ticked when I wake in the night but I actually set an alarm for 4.30am every morning & take it then (rarely wake in the night but that was the nearest fit).
I’ve always taken in the morning for 10 years on doctors orders due to stomach ulcer treatment changed to bedtime..didn’t work for very depressed and very tired so I’m back to mornings.
I take full dose of T4 and T3 with an alarm set about an hour before my get up alarm.
There’s days that I sleep through this alarm and take it when I wake up, leaving as much time as I can until coffee/breakfast. I know in the long run the odd day of less than perfect T4 absorption won’t make much difference, just need to make sure it doesn’t become regular.
Thanks for the poll, I appreciate the limits set regarding answers.
I take 100mcg Levothyroxine (50/50 split) so one dose during the night and the other early afternoon.
I take both my T4 and T3 together upon waking up in the morning.
Voted for taking Levothyroxine in the middle of the night but is usually 6am and I go back to bed
Full T4 & T3 at sparrow f^rt.
100mcg Levothyroxine and 10mg Liothyronine at 11PM, 10mcg Liothyronine at 11AM
I take all the Levothyroxine part of my dose at 8am.
I take 1 grain of NDT at 8am and 1 grain at 5pm.
I take T4 and T3 on waking with a herb tea.
T3 & T4 taken upon waking then I wait 1.5-2 hours before eating.
But, sometimes I might take in the night on one of the occasions I wake, if I feel thirsty, if I'm sitting up to have a drink, might as well take my levo !
I take levothyroxine and (full dose not split) liothyronine together on waking. I’ve never been advised what is best to do
I take Levothyroxine (T4) and full dose liothyronine (T3) first thing on waking in the morning
None of the survey categories apply to me. I take T4 and T3 together on waking.
I have 6am meds already 365 days a year. Still hard to control my hashimoto hypothyroidism
I take my full T3 on waking and I was taking my full T4 just before bed. But this method with T4 I realised was keeping me awake at night. Now T4 is between 9pm and 9:45pm seems to be better sleep wise .
I take Levothyroxine 75mg First thing in the morning.
I take levothyroxine and liothyronine upon waking (used to split latter, now don't)
I take 100mcg Levo and 10mcg Lio at about 6 in the morning. Going to do blood test next week and depending on results will increase Lio to 15mcg.
Take mine before bed and a couple of hours after any food or cups of tea.
Nothing worse than having to wait for breakfast or a coffee first thing.
Edit: I also take other meds in the morning so want to take them as far away from my Levo as possible.
I take T4 when I go to bed and T3 one dose around midday
I used last button but also spoilt the dose with a smaller NDT dose in the afternoon
I either take it around 4am if I wake up, or when waking up in a morning.
I take levothyroxin and NDT first thing in the morning.
I take Levo first thing in the morning then Carbimazole at 8pm nightly. On block & Replace.
I voted for full dose at bedtime but the dosage is different in that one dose M-F at bedtime and a higher dose Sat & Sun, at bedtime, both T4 only
I take NDT split in two - one on waking (6.30am ish) one hour before cuppa or breakfast and second one an hour after lunch.
I take levothyroxine and liothyronine first thing in the morning
I take T4 and T3 once a day first thing in the morning.
Both T3 and T4 full dose early in the morning before getting out of bed.
levothyroxine only, first thing in the morning
I take Levothyroxine around 6am. I try and not have breakfast until 2hrs later.
I'm a one hit wonder T3 & 4, 4-6am 🙂
Would far rather take Levothyroxine first thing but have had to move it to bedtime so I can take something else first thing in the morning...
You left mine out. I take liothyronine and levothyroxine all at once in the morning on an empty stomach. When I was on NDT only after initial start of splitting I ended up just one high dose in the morning. It has made no difference to me whether splitting or not.
I take NDT morning and afternoon.
I take T4 and T3 at 7am.
NDT split dose - morning and evening.
T4 and T3 around 4am. T3 only around 3.30pm
75mg of Levo on waking (but that is rarely the morning at the moment). Then leave 1.5 - 2 hours before I eat anything.
Obviously I had to be different.
Levo taken at bed time and T3 first thing in morning on waking.
I did used to split my 10mcg T3 dose into 2, but tried it all at once and actually that seems to work better. 👍🤷♀️
Hopefully increasing T3 to 15mcg in the next few weeks.
According to latest endo doc,@ nhs: No more combination therapy of t3 & t4 because of age::::
I take Thyroxine and Liothyronine 1hr before breakfast
I take NDT daily dose split morning and afternoon
I also take a small dose (12.5mcg) of T3 at bedtime
I take it in the morning after I’ve eaten my breakfast.
I take NDT 4 x day & small dose of levo at bedtime. I can't wait for my morning coffee!
Armour thyroid around 6:00 am, whole dose
