Hi , i don’t have that heat feeling you describe but I get very anxious and sick if I have to go out. Yep it’s all connected. I live a very solitary life now.

I have got to the situation where to have any respite from Ibs anxiety and everything that comes with it I don’t go out it’s s solitary life but at least my anxieties are not off the scale but I’am also surprised that when I do have an appointment or need to go out ibs kicks in very quickly no matter how long it’s been since my last flare up

hi.

Mine happens when I’m about to go to the toilet to poo. My stomach in the lower area hurts. Then, I get hot and slight tingling sensation (not a pleasant one). Then I go to the toilet. Once I’m done a feel a bit wiped out for a little while. Then, I’m okay.

It happened yesterday actually. After I settled when all done, I started feeling hungry 😃

I think I learned it’s vagus nerve thing.

I sometimes get a similar feeling without stomach pain when I’m out; say at a theatre or in a large group of people in a room. This poorly anxiety territory. I do what I can to snap out of it. It all boils down to stress in our lives.

I get this horrible feeling of hotness and tingling it is so frightening at times I just do breathing techniques and pray it will pass. I have been told it is anxiety but not sure really.

hmmm… it does bare all the hallmarks of anxiety. I’d go to the doctors by all means. Just to get some reassurance. Hopefully they recommend some sort of test. Just to set ur mind at rest. Other than that, it does sound like anxiety. I’m prone to bodily panic sensations. I can control them 9 times out of ten. It’s all down to breaking the cycle with distraction, breathing, sipping liquid or even nipping my skin. Whatever is appropriate at the time.

My fear is getting the sickness bug and exposing mum to it who…. Has a phobia of vomiting. Of all the phobias to get. So, I instrly put pressure on myself to avoid exposure to such an illness. My anxiety stems from that 😤

This is what I get I feel like my body is on fire on the inside it’s so overwhelming at times it feels like it’s creeping up my body it really does make me feel terribly strange but I can nearly always pinpoint it to something going on in my life that I can’t control so definitely anxiety

I have the 'heat' feeling as mentioned to my GP yesterday when I had an appointment relating to current migraines; but it cannot be the menopause! Im well past that now... so I do think it is related to anxiety/stress in our lives.

Hi Poppy,

I understand how you feel. You may find that using the box breathing technique will help you to relax so oyu don't suffer from the symptoms you describe. This system was developed by a Navy Seal Officer who used it for hid troop during war situations. His troop was the only one that survived because he taught them the box breathing technique. It is as follows: breathe in slowly through your nose counting to 4, hold your breath for 4 seconds, exhale slowly through your mouth for 4 seconds and then hold your nreath for 4 seconds. Try repeating this breathing pattern for 10-12 minutes twice a day for 12 weeks. It helps to interrupt the brain signale to the brain that are making you feel tense.

Hope it helps.

Yes when I suddenly get stressed/anxious I get hot but fortunately it doesn't last too long as I focus on my breathing and also try to distract my thoughts by thinking of something positive.
