what type of IBS do you have? This is usually used for IBS D as it slows down the gut transit time. It is also an antisickness drug it it works on slowing down the gut transit and reducing bowel movements. What symptoms are you suffering with that caused them to prescribe this?
It's an antisickness drug generally used in relation to chemotherapy and anaesthetic. It's helpful if you have nausea because of organs being stretched. Mystar86 is right it slows your gut down so severe constipation is a risk. for its for diarrhoea then codeine would be better as slightly less constipation and would help.with pains
