I just wanted to ask if anyone has felt like how I am feeling before.
I woke up feeling really fatigued to the point where my arms and hands are tired. My brain feels foggy and I'm struggling to concentrate. I feel quite out of it. I've been eating to try to get out of this fatigue but it's not working.
Can IBS cause this fatigue and brain fog feeling?
My IBS isn't flaring up today so it's weird..

I get this a lot. I did find when I spoke to my gp they did a blood test and found my iron levels were low. Might be worth speaking to your GP just to make sure.
Thanks I had a blood test earlier this year and my levels of iron, vitamin D etc were fine. I've been eating more meat and vegetables recently so I'd have thought my levels would have increased! Hopefully they haven't fallen but I'll get them checked out to see just in case.
Hi, I have similar symptoms and sometimes I just fall asleep for no reason.
I have had ibs for 28 years and my recent blood test show a slight drop in B12, my Folate is half what it should be 1.7 and my Iron is through the roof 325. Doctor has put me on 5mg of folic acid and I'm booked in for another blood test in September.
This is a common feature of CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). I used to get it a lot, but was never officially diagnosed as it didn’t last more than 3 months. Coincidentally, I also suffer from IBS and, together with prostate pain, this can be very debilitating. I always seem to pass tests with flying colours, even though I feel like crap.
The debility is largely mental, rather than physical, which is why you can’t concentrate. If you can do it, the key is to relax and not fight it - you can’t force yourself to concentrate, you just need the opportunity to “free your mind” (a bit like when you are half awake and you recall something which you’ve been struggling to remember). The main thing is that this goes of its own accord and the more relaxed you are, the quicker that will happen.
