Has anyone used the food marble
Has anyone tried the food marble along with th... - IBS Network
Has anyone tried the food marble along with the app to find out which foods are causing an issue just seen it advertised on Facebook
I started using it recently, feeling so pleased that such a device has been invented as I have had expensive & inconvenient intolerance tests and SIBO tests at clinics in the past . I imagine the Marble is less accurate but it definitely works for me in that it shows increased hydrogen levels following certain foods. I also did the 4 intolerance tests which you can buy with the Marble. They were all negative apart from sorbitol. I was a little surprised at this because I have had a positive fructose test in the past, so I'm currently testing this out with actual pieces of fruit. The app is easy to use. The only thing I would say with it is that the list of foods is quite limited and there are no branded foods. So it may be necessary to look up FODMAP contents elsewhere alongside the use of the app - unless you are a FODMAP old-timer like me!!
I haven't heard of it and I'm quite sceptical when things are advertised on Facebook.
I paid £41 for an consultation with a Nutritionist, best money I ever spent (she was recommended by a friend).
Long story short, I had food poisoning back in November and was suffering with nausea, acute at times, and diarrhoea and I was still suffering when I saw the Nutritionist on 17 July. She tested me by using some magnetic force and said I had a high sensitivity to gluten, rye, barley and a medium sensitivity to peas.
I cut the said foods out and have to say was still feeling poorly through August but by September I was much better. I then read on the IBS Network, which I'm a member of, that people with IBS can quite often tolerate Spelt Sourdough as it has less fructans in it. I started eating sourdough bread again and was fine then this Tuesday I met a friend and we had a meal, I had spaghetti with mine. Lo and behold the following day my tummy was bad again.
I'm feeling so much better today.
If it wasn't for the Nutritionist I wouldn't have had any idea that gluten, well the fructans, were a problem. Safe to say it was the best £41 spent.
I've also had a Gut Biome test, money well spent as well.
This is the best my IBS has been in years.
Oh and I also became Vegan a year ago for my health.
Happy days😀
Are you IBS D or C
Well I was IBS C from 1996 to 2018 and that was until I had the food poisoning. Afterwards it went to IBS D and nausea.
Since seeing the Nutritionist and reading about sourdough bread, which I love, and the fructans I'm now clear of both IBS C and IBS D.😁
So glad you have found something that works for you.
Thank you. I totally believe that a Gut Biome test would work for anyone as it's personal to you, as would seeing a Nutritionist and a lot of people find the Low Fodmap diet works. I really hope you find something works for you.
Which Gut biome test did you try?
Chucking Goat, very pleased with the company.
Thanks for that much appreciated
You are welcome. Seeing a Nutritionist and having a Gut Biome Test is the best thing I've done in a very long time, can't believe how much better I am feeling.
