Has anyone tried Amitiza 8mcg or 24mcg? Does it take time for your body to adapt? Ready to give up on yet another expensive drug.

I was prescribed this by my private consultant, but as I had to pay private it would have been about £180 for 6 weeks and I did not think it was worth it as I believe it can have bad side effects. I did try Prucalopride also expensive but not as much and this worked well.

Yes it is. I am also in the U.K. You would need a prescription.

I live in the US and a 30 day supply with insurance is $155. Why do the samples work, only to buy some and they turn out to be horrible? I'll have to look up the drug you mentioned.

Thank you for your reply, I thought it would be. I just dread going to the GP to ask to be refered to a Gastroenterologist.

I am pleased it helped you. I will have to bite the bullet and see my GP if what I am trying at the moment does not help.

Hi Pat,

Just wanted younto know that I stopped the Amitiza. Made me worse. Now on the lowest rose of Linzess. So far, no better, no worse. Horrible pain!
