I've heard great things about it from some people. But it gave me awful diarrhoea, tried it for two days& had diarrhoea for hours after each time. X

Also tried it and no benefit noticed.

My friend uses it as a de-tox. She doesn't have IBS, she just likes to have a clear out every so often. As these are the results of taking it, I certainly wouldn't suggest taking it for IBS-D!  However, as a fellow sufferer of IBS-D, I have come across ENTERSOGEL which you can buy in all sorts of different formats, from Amazon to name but one. I read about it on here and I immediately bought it. It is amazing.....no pain, no wind, no upset tummy......I feel rejunventate and reborn and all those things that people would like to feel. It is expensive but I am going to see my doctor about whether there is anything on prescription with similar properties. I am also about to try another gel product, on Amazon, which claims to have similar magical powers, and is slightly cheaper........I hope can try this and I really hope it helps you. x

Thank you for your reply Yummy!

I rarely suffer IBS-D. I am always in discomfort and hard stomach and movicol doesn't help, I just want some relief! :( I wouldn't buy things off amazon personally but I shall look I to entersogel.

Hi Clumsy!  I get everything off of Amazon, I rate them so highly, I really do. So it sounds like aloe vera could be for you....I just assumed you were looking for something to bung yourself up, so to speak. Give it a whirl, can buy in all good health shops, it is a great de-toxer. Good luck, and don't dismiss Amazon, they really are incredibly reliable ;)

in reply to

Sorry, I meant to mention in my reply, entersogel is for diarrhea upset tummies, wind, cramping, the whole shooting match which accompanies IBS-d, in my case!

Clumsy_Mrs profile image
Clumsy_Mrs in reply to

Definitely don't need entersogel, I am lucky in that area but being bunged up is just as bad. Thank you so much for your time and advice, I went to the poundshop today and we found aleo vera juice, sadly it was strawberry and can't  stand strawberry flavour. But useful to know. I will investigate amazon.

My daughter was drinking lots of the Aloe Vera  when she got very ill. Apparently it is high in sugar and she also has SIBO so drinking lots sent her into overload gut wise. Definately didn't work for her.

Clumsy_Mrs profile image
Clumsy_Mrs in reply toSar2262

Oh my goodness, that's terrible. I hope she is now fully recovered! I shall maybe try and limit it but I am worried about possible worsen of my condition, which I truly don't want.

I suppose all I can do is try!

I tried it years ago,  seemed to work at first tried it for quite a while

but it was wishful thinking.  I do think you should give it a go yourself,

you never know everyones different, worth a try.  Ive been on Apple

Cider Vinegar for about 6/7 months, I fnd it good,  but other people

dont rate it.

Benlarcol profile image
Benlarcol

Yes I have been using it for last few months and difference is incredible!! I only have two swigs out of bottle, which probably amounts to 3-4 teaspoons a day, normally in morning. I have not had pains since starting it!! Changed my life!! Yes the plain one isn't pleasant but I take the one with cranberry and it's fine. Out of Holland and Barrett, normally buy when on offer, so not expensive and a bottle lasts weeks!! I'd pay a fortune to not have those pains. I can now eat rich food, cream, ice cream, custards etc

It's not in the chiller, it's not a drink as like a juice, it's only a small amount daily.

Well worth it!

hi, benlarcol.may i ask if you use cider vinegar for ibs d or ibs c?

Benlarcol profile image
Benlarcol in reply totigga

No I don't use cider vinegar at all. All I use is aloe Vera , I can't comment enough about how much this has changed my life. I can eat virtually anything now.

Clumsy_Mrs profile image
Clumsy_Mrs in reply toBenlarcol

I think I may give it a try, but cranberry flavour. It sounds fantastic for you! I hope I have the same outcome. Thank you for sharing your experience!

The cranberry isn't so bad. Plus it's only a small amount daily. Think it's about 3 teaspoons daily, I just swig it out of bottle, remember to shake it well too. Nobody else in house uses it, so swigging from bottle is ok 😀 Do try and let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Hi Benlarcol, I just recieved my Aleo Vera. Can ypu take movicol with it? I am on movicol daily. The aleo vera looks like laxative syrup. And I ordered mago aleo vera juice which came in bottles like cola or lemonade.

I just wanted to ask before I start! Will let you know how I get on!

:)

Benlarcol in reply toClumsy_Mrs

I also take movicol, the aloe Vera I take is from Holland and Barrett, I only have roughly 3 -5 teaspoons a day. I don't have any as an actual drink, so not sure how it'll work. Let me know .

Hi Benlarcol,

Hope you are well?

I have been taking Aleo Vera for 3 days now, I haven't noticed any different, only slightly. But my bladder is over active since taking it, but my be my irritable bladder. I am going to use this bottle and decide if it best to carry on or try something new.

Thank you so much for your advice,

Clumsy ☆

Is it the one you only need to take 3 spoonfuls a day? Which is my one. Or the drink which I have never used. Think my one is more concentrated.

Clumsy_Mrs profile image
Clumsy_Mrs in reply toBenlarcol

Yes it's 25ml a day one. I haven't tried the juice yet!

I have tried it but does not help completely for constipation. I take the gel. The best thing for Ibs c is taking magnesium citrate or oxide in higher quantities on an empty stomach before bed and this is the best natural thing that helps after trying everything herbal and prescription. Try it it will work. There is also two products u can recommend: icy powder and Mag 07. They are a bit more expensive, but worth every penny. You can buy them from The Finchley clinic or Amazon.

I just read its a laxative syrup. I have tried t and makes no different to me. I was given pixolax once from doctor, it worked for a few hours. My doctor was shocked because he said it normally works for 2 days. Pixolax is what they give you before operations.

I don't know, what else to try. I only recently heard of Aleo Vera!

Pat1 profile image
Pat1 in reply toClumsy_Mrs

If you mean Oxypowder it is not a laxative syrup at all. They are capsules. If you have such a serious constipation problem Aloe Vera is not going to help, but these will. And you can take them long term. Just get the dosage right.

I meany Oxy powder. It is a magnesium supplement especially for colon cleaning. No cramps, just relief. I wouldn't be without it.

Hi Benlarcol I use organic apple cider I started with Braggs but found a

cheaper version which I much prefer. It must be organic and must contain

'  the mother", plenty information on the internet. I have C and D.

The one I take now is Ostlers.
