Visanne hormone treatment

Hi

I have been recommended Visanne by my gynecologist, which she said may help to shrink an endometrimoa on my left ovary (around 3.5cm). I wonder if anyone here has any experience with this pill, and if there is anything I should be aware of before I start.

Thank you!

Hi, i'm in the same boat as you. I have an endometrioma 4 plus cm on my left ovary and to help shrink or stop growth was put on Visanne 2 mg about a week now, I've been looking for more information to no avail. I'd like to know how effective and side effects as of date I've been getting wrest pain and dizzy spells not sure if it's related to or not. Please keep me posted. Take care stay safe :)

Hi sorry for the late reply!

I hope your symptoms have eased up since you first posted. I ended up being fine on Visanne, no side effects apart from feeling a bit nauseous when I first started. I came off Visanne about 3 months ago to start trying for a baby, and my endo pain came back pretty much instantly. My periods have been agony, but I also have bad pain and get super bloated in the middle of my cycle (ovulation pain?!) especially in the area where the endometrioma is.

If I wasn't trying for a baby, I would have stayed on Visanne. It was amazing not having periods, and again I didn't have any side effects. My endometrioma also shrunk to about 2.5cm (from 3.5cm) while I was on it.

Hope you've also had a more positive experience since your post too!
