You feel guilty because Ana has indoctrinated you into believing that eating is bad so when you eat you feel guilty

Think of Ana as a nasty black cloud that wants to control you and not in a good way - it wants you to kill yourself by starvation or suicide

And when you are full remember that Ana is mad because you have chosen life

Guilt is a really strong feeling and its recognising that its the ED that's the root of that thought that helps you say no to giving in and letting the guilt prevent you doing what you need and should do for recovery. If you are getting support talk it through with them - or contact ABC helpline and talk to them - a befriender might support you at this time and help you see passed the thought to the truth. I have a diet plan set for me and that helps I refer to that whenever I feel guilty and say no - this is what I need and its OK - and that does push the guilt to the back for a bit. Keep going and don't let the ED thoughts beat you.

Hi Do you have anyone supporting you through meal times & afterwards ? We support our daughter by sitting with her after meal times , watching TV- comedy /light programmes are good . Also we sometimes have a gentle walk . She also finds cuddling the at useful too . Anything to take your mind of these feelings which are just the ED's way of trying to control you . Remember- You deserve more than a life with an ED xx
