Or so this is what my Dr says.

Hi, this is my first post so not really sure what I’m supposed to do or say....I’ve been struggling for around 9 months and my husband finally talked me in to going to the Dr. She has referred me to an ED specialist. It was a bit of a shock when she said I was suffering from Anorexia, don’t get me wrong I knew I had a problem but now it’s in the open I just wish it wasn’t. I feel like it was just easier before anyone knew. Does that sound silly?

Hi jloo, Nothing ever sounds silly that makes an impact on our lives. There is no one here to judge you in what you say or do. You've found a safe place to talk about your issues among kind and caring individuals who are struggling as well.

It's very common for us to know there is a problem before anyone else figures it out. I'm glad your husband loves you enough to not look the other way and encourage you to get help. I think we are all like this when it comes to actually hearing a diagnosis. Until that time, we can pretend that we are over reacting. It doesn't label you, it's a diagnosis just as any other health issue.

I wish you luck with your appointment with the ED specialist. (I only wish my daughter would admit to a problem) Let us know how you do. Remember you need to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. My best to you jloo. xx

Thank you. It’s nice to have people that understand, it’s much appreciated x

Not silly at all - labelling your problem somehow makes it more real - and also your confronting the issue rather than letting it tick like a time bomb in the background. Glad you've got a referral - you are one of the lucky ones - so many don't have such understanding GPs. EDs also have a way of controlling your mind - so be aware that it will be a hard battle - the ED trying to persuade you that all is well when it clearly is not. So take courage - and if you are able to share your feelings with your husband - take the opportunity - even if he doesn't understand - just having support really does help.
