Hope You Are All At Peace This Beautiful July 1st!!!
My 25 year old nephew has just entered an Eating Disorder Clinic for the fourth time in five years. (several more over his life time). He has had an eating disorder history for as long as family members can recall and his father is beside himself; emotionally and financially. Once released from each program he has yet to attend a support group, hold a job, maintain contracts set up his counselor and his father, etc. Yet, he has time for social life, travel, and wants card blanc to come and go as he pleases. He has also a history of lying, misperceptions and reality so addressing his real issues never truly seem to be addressed. Family counseling has been attempted several times but without success.
At what point can a family turn their cheek and ask him to leave the house without fear of him taking his life through this disease. I know "tough love" sounds terrible, but we are desperate to save this wonderful young man!!!
We are torn apart. Has anyone ever had such a situation?
Bless You All,
