How long can someone go without food?

I think more the point is what effects malnutrition has both short and long term. Some of these effects will be "hidden" to start with and only long term does the damage show. There are plenty of good websites which outline what the effects are e.g. Something Fishy. I would also urge you (if it's you starving yourself) to go and see your GP asap.

Starving is just not worth it and can have a devastating future especially with those effects that aren't apparent straight away resulting in poor health - and physical pain. I know that from personal experience as well as seeing what others go through.
