Ventolin
Thanks all for all the input folks, I have spiolto respimat and Clenil inhalers. Tried Fostair some time ago but went downhill with that. The reason I ended up with a respimat was because I was unable to inhale the dry powder capsules. I use a spacer device with everything possible. Had a heart thingy

Ventolin
Hi has anyone had a feeling that their
ventolin
inhaler is just not helping anymore. For about the last 4/6 weeks mine doesn't seem to be helping with my breathlessness so I have found myself relying on oramorph which I'm not very happy about. Ideas and suggestions please Patsy

Nasty Oral Thrush from Steroid Inhaler.
I take capsules (Carbocisteine /Montelukast) to thin out the gunk on my lungs and I have two inhalers: a Blue reliever inhaler (
Ventolin
) and a Pink Forstair steroid inhaler that I use morning and night. It is the latter that is causing me problems.

Not able to use oral steroids. Can inhaled steroids clear my flare or am I dreaming?
I’ve had a flare up this wk and following instructions of specialist of 2 puff seritide 250mg 2 puffs x3 daily and
ventolin
6 puffs x 2 hrly. I can barely walk and can’t talk without gasping for air. If I lay still and do nothing I’m ok. I’m improving ever so slowly but am I kidding myself here.

Winter blues
I have had asthma for many years and at present, I am on Fostair and
Ventolin
. I get through the spring and summer ok, but This time of the year when the weather gets damp, my asthma is much worse. I get a terrible cough that goes on and on and my breathing becomes much worse.

Advice please
I am also taking
ventolin
via spacer and nebuliser (between 2 and 4 nebs a day currently just to try and manage tight chest). I have just finished a course of amoxicillin 500mg tds and am still on 40mg pred daily. My problem is that my chest is permanently tight and breathing is hard work.

Brittle asthma
The
ventolin
inhaler doesn't work so out the neb. At my last appt, my consultant said he would look at introducing theophyllin/aminophyllin but wanted to start with the spiriva first. As i understand it, there are a lot of side effects with theophyllin? But does it help?

Breathing through a straw
When it happens I take
Ventolin
and it goes away. But after a few hours it just comes straight back. And it keeps on coming back a little worse each time. My sleep is poor and in the morning I wake up worn out. Should I wait to see if it goes away, should I get help, or is this normal in asthma?

Pembrolizumab/Keytruda severe side effect
I have NSCLC - I'd felt very optimistic after my first treatment in September ....10 days later, I noticed that where I'd had a rasping noise in my throat for a few months, it had gone, and the following week, noticed that my breathing was improved and needed less
ventolin
etc to keep the airways open

Spacer cleaning
I have a volumatic spacer which I use to take
ventolin
if I ever need it. I have used it this week as my asthma flared up due to a virus. I have notice that it has developed a ring around the inside.

Peak flow and trial of treatment
Average 370, best ever still 390, I’ve used
ventolin
when feeling very tight in the chest or peak flow particularly low, and it’s gone up to 410/420. I’m going back to GP but really I’m wondering if it is even asthma at all if there’s been no real improvement.

Home Nebuliser
Before being discharged from hospital following 9 day stay with yet another dose of pneumonia (2nd in 6 weeks) I asked about having a nebuliser to use at home as more relief from that than my spacer and
ventolin
but was refused for the third time,, although when you first get admitted that’s what they

Something is going on, but what?
When someone reminded me, I used
Ventolin
twice, first on Monday (four puffs), then Wednesday, two puffs, but I haven’t generally as I am rubbish at remembering it even when I have a good reason to use it.

Winter refuge
Does anyone know of places that are sort of renowned for being places where people of old, pre
Ventolin
, would flock to for improved conditions during winter? Currently we are thinking Sicily (want to go there anyway) or Almería region of Spain.
