What is more important? Peak flow readings or asthma symptoms, not severe ones.
I got permission to take a bit more
symbicort
than usual. (I am now on SMART regime). What I don't understand is why the importance to act, when the peakflow was fine, even though I felt rough? The asthma UK nurse was pretty emphatic about it.

Symbicort 100/6 versus AssiemEMite 80/4.5
Are these equivalent? I opened my new medication this morning and found when I peeled a multitude of labels of the packet this Italian job! A little further investigation with google, I found an Italian page similar to UK MIM's. Where with google translation it says:- AssiemEMite 80/4.5 "Each delivered

Tight chest
I have fairly recently been put on the SMART regime and so took a dose of
Symbicort
then another 5 minutes later.

Methought I heard a voice cry, “Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep”—the innocent sleep,
On steroids and antibiotics, plus usual inhalers (
Symbicort
200/6 and Ventolin). None of those meds will stop this particular choking experience from happening. No doctors take the blind bit of notice of it. Once said it was post nasal drip! I know different. It is not.

Spiriva
I had a consultant appointment yesterday & I was given Spiriva to take on top of my existing medication (
Symbicort
/Ventolin/Montelukast/Itraconazole). I started on it this morning but for about a couple of hours after taking it I felt very hot & dizzy. Does anyone else find that with it?

New medication
Hi all My respiratory consultant has prescribed me carbocisteine to try in addition to taking
Symbicort
400, Tiotropium bromide and Montelukast. The pharmacist 'warned' me that they would make me sleepy (and nauseous) but the leaflet says I can operate machinery and drive etc.

Changed from Seretide to Symbicort
Since changing to
Symbicort
I have slept much better at night without noisy wheezing and I have coughed up more phlegm. But I cough much more during the day which I never did whilst on Seretide and seem to get breathless more quickly. I wondering if this is a common effect.

New to Asthma and very scared
I've tried Ventolin with Clenil Modulite, but that seemed to have minimal effect so now I'm on
Symbicort
100/6, which seems to help reduce my shortness of breath through the long acting bronchodilator, but the steroid seems to have had a minimal impact so far, though it's only been 2 weeks.

Dr changed my Medication to Fostair 100/6
The antibiotics helped with the increased doseage of Ventolin 5 puffs 4 times a day plus
Symbicort
2 puffs morning and evening but I'd still not recovered properly and found walking upstairs made me really breathless.

Delayed action or change of inhaler?
I'm breathing much better since having my Seretide inhaler changed to
Symbicort
but I don't seem able to get back to how I was. I get tired so very easily now and whereas in previous years I would have been away in the camper a number of times, I have lost my enthusiasm.

Different Med
For years I was on
Symbicort
which my chemist told me was the Rolls Royce in terms of inhalers for COPD treatment.

Symbicort 200/6 SMART
Have just this morning been put on
Symbicort
SMART regime at my first respiratory consultant appointment. I have been struggling with control/persistent chest infections for a number of months now and was on maximum dose of Flutiform which my GP was able to prescribe as well as Montelukast.

Antibiotics Prescribed plus increase in medication
I'm to also continue with
symbicort
- 2 puffs morning and night. She's prescribed some more Prednisolone to keep in reserve if needed. As I'm bringing up (sorry folks!) some yellow phlegm I really just want to get started on the antibiotics.

Poor peak flows
I had already had my usual preventer -
symbicort
200 and a course of 40mgs pred over 5 days. I was discharged on another 5 day course of pred and still had peak flows, at this point of 200 to 250. Back to the docs, one who dismissed the low peak flow as 'not a problem'.
