There are times when sucking in on my handihailer that I can really get the capsule vibrating (with little real effort) and there are other times (more often than not unfortunately) that the vibration is quite subdued and inspiration is somewhat more laboured. Remembering this I decided that I would give up my Spiriva for a few months and give Elkira a fair try. Both Spiriva and Elkira are expensive, but there is a saving of around £6 per month per patient with Elkira. Elkira is an anti-cholinergic agent and works in the same way as Spiriva.

I am taking spiriva and serentide, i was a smoker, but have stopped (fingers crossed) I am feeling lost and scared and my husband is looking for information that I cant tell him which is causing arguments.

OK, so I got my Spiriva today and will start using it tomorrow. A recent poster asked about advice and tips when using Spiriva and mouthwash was recommended.

At the moment I manage on just Spiriva and I have a Ventolin (salbutamol) inhaler but I'm trying not to use it as I seem to get discomfort in my chest with it and want to discuss with the nurse if there is an alternative.

Used my Spiriva for the first time yesterday and all was as it should be. Came to use it this morning and did exactly the same, pierced the capsule and breathed in but it did not vibrate - forgot to hold my breath as I was concerned it hadn't worked.

ALSO not to increase the Spiriva inhaler ever - it works by attaching itself to receptors and once full they are full. Therefore you will only increase the side effects if you take it more than once a day.

She agreed that there was no NEED to take the SPIRIVA and arranged for a SPIROMETRY test. The Spirometry was carried out at the GP surgery by a nurse who after the test prescribed a VENTOLIN inhaler.

Dr: That wouldn't be the inhaler but I can give you Spiriva. You can take that as well as the Ventolin. Do you need some more Ventolin?

Since December I have been in and out of A&E and stayed in hospitable as well so finally got referred to a specialist by my GP I’m now on Spiriva Respimat 2.5 microgram two puffs daily Seretide 250 microgram three puffs morning and night Montelukast 1 at night and omeprazole 20 mg two capsules morning

hi, a family member suggested I take vitamin c and echinachae tablets to help build up my immune system etc as mine seems to be very low....can anyone tell me if they use/have tried these and wether they do help etc, im constantly taking clarithromycin and prednisolone and also ventolin/becotide and Spiriva

So by the end of April I may be on Spiriva which may be more suitable for me and it will only have taken 9 months to get this far!

x smoker 2 years,takeing spiriva respimat 1 time a day,also blue ventolin as needed.

I feel worse now with Spiriva than I did on the others but I am giving them a chance until I go to see the specialist again on the 11th April. Has anyone else had this problem with Spiriva and Seretide? Surely as with all medication, what suits one person doesn't suit another. Thanks, Mick

I dont respond to Amoxycillen or Ampicillen I am on Spiriva, salbutamol and Seretide inhalers. Any advice would be welcome. I am ringing my resp. nurse first thing Monday am. I trust her but wont to know what else can be done.

I have just been taken off Spiriva respimat and put on Eklira Genuair. Wondered if anyone else is taking it as its very new, and if so what your thoughts are about it.

,,i,m suffering with my fingers can,t bend my thumbs and a few other fingers,,because i have bad arthritus my doc thinks that what it is,,but i,m not so sure because it feels like my tendons won,t stretch,,i,m on,diclofenic,and take omeprozle with them,and am mucodyne and amitriptyine,,and inhalers spiriva

We can't get Spiriva Respimat in Oz due to limits on Health Fund spending (sound familiar!).

I told him that I felt that Symbicort was of limited effect after taking it for some 6-7 years of varying strengths - currently 400/12 (I also take Spiriva). He suggested I try Seretide 250 and gave me a sample. I tied it today as my morning "starter".
