Trying alternative medicine for allergies (or do your allergy meds help enough?)
I still take
singulair
, and some allergy meds, and I've used my xopenex (levabuterol) during a few weeks where I've had a cough, but other than some very mild asthma, I'm very pleased. It is coming up on my major Fall allergy season though, and I've been having a bit more trouble.

Broncho-pulmonary aspergillosis
Since then i haven't really felt well- my lung functions tests have gone up the spout and I'm now back on 20mgs prednisolone, as well as serevent and flixotide inhalers and now
singulair
at night. I'm also taking an anti-histamine because I have had hay fever more severely than ever this year.

Xolair Trial
I'm on symbicort,
singulair
, theophylline, ventolin & atrovent and feel my asthma is fairly well controlled. I'm having a bit of a dilemmia as although I meet the study criteria i suspect i wont be able to recieve the drug after the trial ends- my asthma isn't bad enough.

Coming to you from...
(all with a daily dose of pred, now being given
singulair
) four days of doing little else than lying in a hospital bed, slowly coming off the nebs, having blood thinners because of restricted mobility.

Asthma attack and getting used to neb
At the moment I'm taking
singulair
, a steroid inhaler, and xopenex/atrovent nebs. The problem is I feel fine, and then I miss the nebs, because technically they are ""as needed"" and they speed my heart up, and then I have to take extra heart meds. Grrr.

difficult method (but works) to control difficult asthma but did everyone else do this?
I ditched the
singulair
as i couldnt take it anymore with all the side effects but i seem to be ok (but then im on antibiotics again! so cant tell). Is it common to be put on a really high dose for a long period even after there is signs of complete control?

Thinking that my asthma will never be fully controlled..
It has gradually been getting worse since I started University 2 years ago and currently I take Symbicort (the SMART system) and
Singulair

Bad attack....seems like a good place to find people who understand
Right now I'm on advair 230/21, alvesco 160, and
singulair
, plus a handfull of allergy meds. I also take xopenex. How do you guys deal with the uncertainty of when you might have an attack, or in another way...the certainty that you WILL have an attack. I find it kind of depressing sometimes. Bee

Question about asthma symptom...
But anyways this last time first my lung doctor tried to take me off of
singulair
(and three days later I got a productive cough). Then he tried to lower my dose of advair/inhaled steroids, and every time I go down a dose same thing happens...coughing up mucus. Is this a common asthma symptom?

Does this sound like true asthma??
Up to 7 a day if i needed), two x antihistimines a day, nasonex, and
singulair
. Plus I can use my ventolin if needed. These meds were prescibed just going by what I told them had been happening to me over the past few months..

Singulair
10mg.

Alternative to singulair for night time symptoms
Problem is, I spoke to my gp about coming off
Singulair
also since I'm not entirely convinced the Clarithromycin was the cause of the jaundice and
Singulair
can cause liver problems. Where I am at the moment is waiting for blood results this week for the liver and ,if they are off at all ,a scan.

Hopeful...how strange is this?
So the exciting news is....I can actually breathe and I'm only taking
singulair
and one puff a day of flovent (no long acting broncodilators). So I'm really hopeful taking less meds will work this time.

New here and to Asthma, scared and worried.
He said that I should be on a different inhaler in the morning and also a tablet called
Singulair
? I couldnt have any more antibiotics at the moment as I was running the risk of developing an MRSA infection.

Was taking 2 puffs twice a day and for a bit, was ok, got worse again, so dr put me on
singulair
. Felt that I was getting better so saw dr and we agreed to try to reduce symbicort, eventually back to the 200/6 and off the
singulair

All these foreign medicines
this week and got prescribed new medication (the doc said something about being newer, better and less fattening XD) Two most people already know - Symbicort (I thought that was a bit of a jump considering I'd recently come off Seretide and dropped down to Beclomethasone a couple of months ago) &
