Protein Update
I take 1
Sinemet
5X daily and 2 Rytary 3X daily. For the past four years, I have been struggling with what I thought were blood sugar issues, in that I would battle fatigue throughout the day.

Parkinsons and Animal-Based Protein
I was able to go from 8
Sinemet
/day and 8 Rytary/day to 4
Sinemet
/day and 6 Rytary per day. I still take a nap, but I don't have the total exhaustion and body freezing episodes. Vegan is not easy - getting enough protein can be a challenge not to be taken on without a dietician.

Parkinson's or Parkinsonism
Although I had been taking
sinemet
25/100 three times a day, we are weaning me off it in six months to see my reaction. So far I am down to 2 a day and no PD symptoms. Obviously, I'm doing this under medical supervision.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and Sinemet interaction
Sinemet
works so much better with a little bit (half a tab) of Benadryl. However, I was just using the drug interaction tool at medscape and for the 1st time I input benadryl...whoops!

Sinemet/entacapone foot twisting
Hello, I am new to this journey and I have had my meds increased (
sinemet
) 3.5 pills a day with entacapone. After the third pill of the day my affected side left foot has uncontrollable twisting/movement and muscle cramps, walking gets bad on that side.

My new Neurologist says try Azilect. I'm doing fine...but
So, now I've started being monitored by a renowned movement disorder doctor and he says I should switch from
Sinemet
to Rytary for longer periods of control. But first I have to take Azilect for a few weeks.

Blurred vision
I am taking
Sinemet
100/25 2-3 tabs every 3 hrs. I usually get about an hour "on" time. I've noticed lately a telltale sign that med wearing off is blurred vision..I've told my neurologist but of course she says she hasn't heard of this so its not related?

Dyskinesia
I started out with Azilect, 1m per day and gradually added
sinemet
. I functioned very well (except for sleep-another story). I was able to work until a year ago. I changed to Rytary about a year ago and have had very even control. (10 per day of 36.25/145.)

Was this patient's long history of meditation a factor in the remission of his PD?
The accuracy of the initial PD diagnosis is supported by appropriate clinical presentation, history of positive response to
Sinemet
(i.e. carbidopa levodopa) , and an abnormal SPECT DaT scan. This case therefore suggests the possibility of remission of symptoms in some patients.

52 Year old male, with PD since 2001, sugar-holic that may cause my symptoms to be worse. How about you?
I am at the point now where the amount of
Sinemet
I take is becoming too large for me to handle the side effects. I have 1-3 panic attack a day. I am wondering if anyone has more PD symptoms after eating a lot of sugary foods.

Enjoying what we have left
I was wearing off during a recent jam session and popped som
sinemet
and had to let it dissolve in my mouth due to no nearby water and the positive results were immediate . All we can do is be thankful for what we had and do the best we can to appreciate what we still have left.
