?Asthma ? Chest infection ? Vocal cord problem
Doctor gave me a
salbutamol
neb which had a good effect, voice returned to normal and breathing improved. He felt I needed referral to ENT and that the problem wasn't my asthma. Maybe something like laryngeal spasm or vocal cords.

'Tapping chest'
I thought maybe it was palpitations at first but the cons said that the
salbutamol
wouldn't ease this, instead it would exaggerate it. Maddie definately is relieved by inhalers when the tapping happens. Anyone??

What do you do when you start getting a cold?
Would anyone increase their steroid inhaler and
salbutamol
just to prevent the cold moving into their chest and getting really sick? I can't risk getting sick and being off work again when I've only been back just over a week!

Has anybody else been given Vertine instead of Serevent?
Some time ago, my pharmacy replaced Salamol with a cheap substitute "
Salbutamol
" by Sandoz which was utterly and totally useless. When I phoned the surgery they said 'Oh yes - we've had a lot of patients tell us about this' and I got my old inhaler back.

Shallow breathing
Unfortunately I don't have
salbutamol
with me at the moment to see if that helps- I'm home from uni until tomorrow and the inhaler I brought won't work, which is annoyong since it's brand new, even rinsing nd changing the case didn't help.

Ongoing asthma
I'm on seretide 250 twice daily and take
salbutamol
3 times (2 puffs each time) and atrovent 1-2 a day. I've also had 3 courses of steroids and 3 courses of antibiotics for infections since august.

exercise and asthma- having a few difficulties!
First of all, I think I may have asked this before, but how long before exercising should
salbutamol
be used? I've been using it about 10-15 minutes before I head to tge gym but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Secondly, how long is it normal to have asthma symptoms for after exercising?

One thing after another - feeling seriously overwhelmed!
I continued to ignore my symptoms getting worse and using more and more
salbutamol
. Carried on with the brown and blue. Looking back I really should have seen GP 4 years ago - I'd spent a few years on Seretide intermttently when I was younger.

That'll Teach Me! First Attack
To cut a long story short, I had an intense exercise class Tuesday night - didn't take any
salbutamol
before or during, as I'd been advised to monitor my peak flows before and after exercise for suspected exercise-induced asthma / general asthma triggered by exercise.

Montelukast 10_mg
I was diagnosed with asthma a number of years ago & until just recently was coping with Seretide &
Salbutamol
inhalers. However, after a persistent cough which started around October, I visited asthma nurse who suggested Montelukast tablets at night.

Asthma's my latest diagnosis!
Initial FEV btw was 3.9 improving to 4.2 post
salbutamol
, so a bit down. Anyway, that was the 'can't be COPD' message, and I was pushed onto Fostair, which ... makes no bloody difference! Still can't breathe properly, still very uncomfortable.

Doctors.
They've not done anything and have been really rude to me ever since, wouldn't let me make an appointment and told me my GP can't prescribe the
salbutamol
for my nebuliser unless my consultant says so.

How to approach doctors to test for CF?
I'm on montelukast and seretide 250 and
Salbutamol
at least 4 times a day. I've always had chest infections minimum once a year but that's increased in recent years and now I'm just coming down with my third chest infection in 4 months despite antibiotics.

Peak Flow/?Asthma
Hi everyone, I've just been given a
salbutamol
inhaler for suspected exercise induced asthma, and over the next two weeks I've been asked to chart my peak flow before exercise, when symptomatic and after using my inhaler.
