First time to A & E
They gave me
Salbutamol
& another 1 which was a lot better - no shakes. Am now starting my gluey chest infection - nice. My husband thought I was over reacting so I had to call 999 myself !! Glad I did. Does anyone know what the other reliver is called? Thanks, Claireb

Is this normal?
I take beclametasone preventer, Severent long acting reliever and
salbutamol
and have a spacer to use during attacks - which is a bit daunting when i am used to only really using my preventer.

New and trying to learn
I started seeing the GP in June and was given
Salbutamol
, which helped a bit, but I was still getting some symptoms most of the time, so added inhaled steroid. Then increased the dose of both, then last week added LABA.

Hello, fairly newly diagnosed, bit confused
I was tested a few weeks later by having to blow into a machine, then use
salbutamol
, then blow into it again, and my peak flow was very good, both before and after using the
salbutamol
, so the practice nurse said I probably wasn't asthmatic.

Do I have asthma? Help please.
The GP says it's asthma (or claims it's a virus) and has tried me on Becatide,
Salbutamol
and now Serevent/Singulair too. Thing is I'm not totally convinced I have asthma.

Salbutamol

Bricanyl MDI
I am confused because I went to see my consultant last Thursday and she prescribed bricanyl MDI to me for the first time instead of
salbutamol
. She did this because I get really bad shakes with the
salbutamol
. She also changed my becotide to flixotide. Anyone any ideas why she did this?

How do you know when to go to the doctor?
I was diagnosed a couple of years ago, I'm generally mild and exercise induced, I only use
salbutamol
and antihistamines as far as medication for asthma. The nurse keeps saying we might put you onto a steroid inhaler but we'll see. So my question is when do you go to the doctors for a flare up?

Asthma control over Christmas
My asthma's been pretty unpredictable since the weather turned colder, twice daily peak flows look great, but I keep having sudden attacks which take a lot of
salbutamol
to bring under control.

Hi from a new member
I was taken to hospital and they give me continuous nebs for 2 hours, then IV
salbutamol
, prednisone, and IV magnesium. The strange thing was that my oxygen stats where still fine at 96%.

Not improving
Been on 7 days of prednisolone and have 3 days of course to take...... trouble is i'm still struggling,
salbutamol
inhaler isn't helping much either. I currently take seretide 500 twice dailly and have been well controlled until now on that. Shouldn't the oral steroids of made an impact by now?

3 down, Hoping not 1 to go!
So she prescribed me a
salbutamol
and the steroid inhaler (never can remember which one it is), told to go back in a week and if no better will be referred for chest x-ray. Am hoping it doesn't come to this as I'm feeling better at the moment and am catching up on sleep.

Rapid acceleration of symptoms after diagnosis
I was diagnosed with adult onset asthma (mild) about 6 months ago, and since then I've gone from using
Salbutamol
, to using Beclometasone, and today have had salmeterol inhaler added to the collection. Seems that since diagnosis my respiratory health has declined rapidly.
