peakflow improved since having steroid nasal spray
I was using
salbutamol
a lot and GP was not sure why. Anyway, he changed my nasal spray and eye drops to steroid rather than antihistamine ones, and I have used the salb. far less and my peak flow has improved. I also take loratadine every day. Maybe it is coincidence, but I think not. Kathyx

Review on Monday
Still don't feel back to normal can't do everything I was doing before, taking more
salbutamol
and not working so long and maybe the worst of it being woken at night with atypical attacks.

New to asthma and full of questions
I have a brown inhaler of beclometasone and a blue inhaler of
salbutamol
. I'm still a bit shocked that I've got asthma (though I had it for one summer when I was a teenager) but my real problem is my appetite. Since i've been ill i just can't finish a meal.

A few questions from a newbie to asthma!
I've since been doing ""reversibility"" PF tests - one test without the inhaler (blue -
Salbutamol
) in the morning, then a before-and-after test in the afternoon.

Tight Chest and Painful upper arms
I am currently taking Seretide 250,
Salbutamol
Breath actuated Inhaler, Montelukast Tablets and other medication for my hayfever. I have being finding the my upper arms are very painful to touch and painful when I hold them out in front of me. Could this be due to the Seretide?

difficulties in getting IV access
on my right side some access was possible but not on my hand but now the cannulae are starting to come out and every 2-3mins due to the awkward angle they have been inserted (the only veins which work) my infusion pumps keep beeping and going on hold not helpful as they contain my aminophylline and

Cough Variant or Vocal Chord Dysfunction?
My peak flow appears normal, but taking two puffs of
salbutamol
makes the symptoms disappear. Other times I get the works - cough, wheeze, breathlessness - what I would actually recognise as asthma. Weird? Or normal?

Oral Steroids and weight gain...
My asthma's been fairly well controlled (not taken more than 125 of seretide and occasional
salbutamol
) since childhood, but this year it's been a nightmare, and for the first time I've been prescribed a 5day course of 20mg prednisolone. The problem is that I am terrified of weight gain.
