*waves* Hello!
I'm still T2 Brittle, but those fast-onset nasty attacks are well spaced out and I recover from them well with just lots of
salbutamol
. Day to day I have fewer symptoms than I have had since I was about 15 - though I'm very careful about what I do and what I eat.

Research re: reliever inhalers may be less effective for some people due to a gene.
Does anyone else have trouble with
salbutamol
being ineffective? I'd like to hear from someone who takes something other than
salbutamol
! Thanks! :)

I was diagnosed with moderate emphysema (57) and I am 68 year old. I was told by the Pulmonologist to exercise 30 minutes a day,
eat healthy, take Spiriva daily and use albuterol as needed. Do any of you use Spiriva? How do I know if I'm having an exacerbation?

Weather related asthma
I was taking the maximum dose of beclomethasone along with
salbutamol
4 times a day, plus extra if needed. I was then changed to Fostair as I could not have any more Beclo, it worked for me.

Reflux despite PPIs
Then have PRN
salbutamol
, cyclizine, buccastem, ondancetron, (tramadol/coedine/dihydrocoedine/oramorph but the idea is to not take these obviously! I am allowed to make the call, but i've decided I don't want to be taking opiates at home for 'daily' symptoms), Gaviscon and Piriton.

Ongoing symtoms
I've had a few attacks needing 8-10 puffs of
Salbutamol
but nothing scary. However, I constantly feel tight chested and I have a sense that I can't cough because it hurts too much (cough is my main symptom so this is slightly annoying).

Daughter newly diagnosed advice regarding inhaler please
She was given a blue inhaler (
salbutamol
) and told to go back in 4 weeks for a review. The inhaler isn't helping that much, just relieving it for short bursts and has ran out. if I take her back to the gp will they do anything for her?

I was prescribed Spiriva and used it for the first month but have been unable to get it this month, it's been 2 weeks now - do I need it?
Since using Spiriva for the first month I have been using
Salbutamol
and Beclometasone for 2 weeks now on their own. I feel OK now.

3 year old struggling to get the right care
She suffered with a constant choking cough from the age of 3mths (always worse at night to be told her chest was clear when we visited GP in the day) Since her diagnosis she has been on Montelukast (stopped due to adverse behavioural reaction),
salbutamol
, Clenil 50 (200mg per day), upped to Clenil 100

Accidentally took an extra puff of sybmicort
I am on 400/12 twice daily and I just took an extra puff without thinking, instead of my
salbutamol
, which I meant to take because my chest was tight. I just wondered whether I should do anything about it. I only took one puff absent mindedly. I took my usual dose at around 8am.

Can anyone tell me if my tests are concerning please.
They gave me a
salbutamol
pump which makes me cough so I don't use it. Sent for PFT, and they now deny their diagnosis from ct scans. Because I used to smoke, they are saying its emphysema. They don't want to see me anymore, and the cough went, once the drug was out of my system.

4 year old falling through the cracks in the NHS
We were told to give him
Salbutamol
3-4 puffs every morning and evening until a review could be done, now pushed back until October. We had the review and it was fine, no wheeze so was told it was all fine.
