New to board-some questions regarding 5 year old son and asthma
Hello I have three lovely boys who are 5, 3 and 16 months. My eldest son, Isaac, has asthma. Actually his history is a little complicated but the long and short of it is that he is now treated for asthma. I guess I am now only fjust full accepting this after years of blaming his respiratory problems

So fed up and don't know what to do next......
After Molly's review a few weeks ago we started on the new regime but to no avail we had several terrible nights and then got a call from nursery who were very worried about her. Took her to docs who changed her on to Seretide and Cetirizine alongside salbutamol and montelukast. There was a few days

Hi everyone My little girl Holly (whos just turned 4) had her seratide put up recently to 3 puffs twice daily and almost straight after it she started to get headaches. I phoned the cons and told him and he decided (rather irrationally I thought) to take her off the seratide and put her back on flixotide

hot weather and another asthma flare up :(
Last Monday we had Alex back in hospital again with his asthma. He recovered so well after his last serious attack in April we had thought we might have been lucky and hopefully see the back of it after stripping his bedroom of carpet and new anti-allergen bedding. How very wrong! He has been back

Well I have just got Emily into bed. She started with a mild cold last Saturday which suddenly went downhill Monday night so after toughing it out and hoping it was 'just a cold', we took an NP appointment on thursday to be told it had gone to her chest, she was crackly and left with antibiotics and

steroids and nebs - I need advice
Hi, I'm new to this forum. Am at my wits end over my son's asthma management, he's coming up to four yrs old. His only trigger seems to be a cold/bugs and he's on fluticazone, currently 150mg twice a day and montelukast once a day. We've bounced into hospital 8x this year. Normally once a month.

Viral Wheeze..
Hi, my son had a wheezing episode just after he turned 3, the doctors said it was a viral induced wheeze.. he spent a night in hospital using salbutamol every hour and he was put on steroid tablets until he was recovered enough the next day to be sent home. We were told he may not get it again, or he

Trip to the zoo and breakthrough symptoms
I went with my little boy of nearly four to the zoo with preschool yesterday. Most of the animals were in enclosures outdoors so I wasn't too worried (as I know that animal dander is one of his triggers). Anyway, within half hour of being there I thought that I could hear some of his very early signs

which hospital
Hi, Alfie used to be seen at our local hospital in hastings. When we were there the problem was that they couldn't give intravenous salbutamol because it sends his heart so fast and they had no paed person who was comfortable venting a small child. They used to have to get an intensive care retreval

A doggy problem?
Hi I'm grandma to Logan aged 20 months. Logan was given some salbutamol liquid for a wheeze last autumn. It was prescribed initially by a paed, whom he had been referred to for a heart murmur. The murmur was nothing serious - the paed says he may just get it when unwell. He has only had to use it
